What are the basic ingredients in making Okra curry recipe 

To roast okra

  1. 150 grams of okra
  2. 1-2 tbsp of oil
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  5. 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder

For okra curry

  1. 1 cup yogurt
  2. 3 tablespoons gram flour.
  3. 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  4. 3-4 tbsp Ghee / Oil
  5. 1 tbsp Rai
  6. 1/2 spoon ginger paste
  7. 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
  8. 8-10 sweet neem leaves
  9. 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  10. 2-3 green chillies modified
  11. 1 onion corrected
  12. 1-2 dry red chilies
  13. 3 cups of water

What is material used in recipe in Making a Okra curry recipe?

Okra curry recipe :

STEP-1: To make curry, first take curd in a vessel. Add sifted gram flour, salt to taste, turmeric and mix it with jaggery. After that add water and mix it and keep it aside.


STEP-2: Now heat ghee/oil in a pan on gas. Once the ghee/oil is hot, add rye and fenugreek seeds and fry it. After that add hing, modified green chillies, dry red chillies, sweet neem leaves and ginger paste and mix and fry for a minute or so.


STEP-3: Then add the modified onion and salt as per taste and mix, fry until golden or soft. After that add gram flour mixture and mix and keep stirring on cool heat till it rises. After that reduce the gas and let the curry boil.

Method of roasting okra:

STEP-1:  Wash and clean the okra. Then cut it into small or medium pieces. Heat a couple of spoons of oil in another pan on gas. Once the oil is hot, add round, modified okra. Along with this, add salt, turmeric and red chilli powder as per taste, stir and mix on medium heat.


STEP-2:  Turn off the gas when the okra boils properly and when the curry boils properly, turn off the gas too.


STEP-3:  Now add roasted okra in the curry and mix and serve hot.
