What are the basic ingredients in making Mexican Bread Rolls?

  • 12 bread slices
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of maida (refined) flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/4 cup boiled sweet corn kernels
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped chillies
  • 1/4 cup grated processed cheese
  • 1 tsp dry red chilli flakes
  • salt, to taste
  • oil, for frying
  • Tomato  ketchup for serving

How to make a Mexican Bread Rolls Step by Step 

Step-1:  Heat butter in a wie non-stick pan, add maida and cook stirring for 1 minutes on medium heat. After that add milk, cook on medium heat for 2 minutes stirring constantly until it becomes lumpy or the sauce thickens.


Step-2:  Then add corn kernels, simla chillies, cheese, red chilli flakes and salt and mix well and cook stirring for 1 minute on medium heat. Take this mixture in another bowl and keep aside.


Step-3:   Cut the edges of the bread slices and roll the dough on the bread and spread it thinly and put 1/2 tablespoon of filling in the middle of the bread and roll it tightly.


Step-4:  At the end, press some water on the edge of the bread and seal it completely. Thus prepare 12 bread rolls.


Step-5:  Heat oil in a deep pan, add bread rolls a few at a time, fry them until golden brown on each side. after that drain it on a tissue paper and serve immediately with tomato ketchup.
